Have a look at http://www.plaxo.com It has worked "OK" for me up until now, just remember that if you hit "update" it will e-mail all your contacts, it's the "sync" button you are looking for. However, I'm rambling, they have upgraded their services TODAY! I'm still testing but it's looking good so far ! RE your sync problem.
